Our area is situated in a CAMPFIRE area (Communal Area Management Programme For Indigenous Resources) which accommodates rural people living amongst the wildlife. These areas were formed on a community- based approach to provide supplementary income and protein to all local inhabitants. Therefore giving a value to wildlife in these areas and benefiting the community with income, education, healthcare and a source of protein.
The main tribe in this area is the tonga tribe, they are generally fisherman and subsistence farmers. most of these people still living in there traditional manner and very seldom venturing out of there tribal land. They are hard-working and a pleasure to work with.
In this sense every animal harvested is never wasted, all meat is distributed amoungst the local villages who always recieve it with a smile .
